Inroads out now
Our second cooperation with Samoth and his unit The Wretched End is now available. The album is harvesting a serious amount of good reviews.

The artwork for "Inroads" picks up where we left off with "Ominous" a couple of years ago and sent us on driving around abandoned parts of Telemark, searching out forgotten roads, barren fields and foggy sceneries.

Italian music magazine
The brand new Italian music magazine The New Noise recently commissioned us to make them a logo. The symbol is based upon two N's put together in a shape inspired by the waveforms on hospital's pulse monitoring.

The site was published on friday.

Psychedelic Wolves
Our design for the upcoming ULVER album "CHILDHOOD'S END" is revealed today.

This is the long awaited album featuring covers of songs from the 1960s. As usual, we have been working closely with the band, who chose a cover photograph that should be familiar to many of you—being a well-known image that shows one of the true faces of war.

We have been spinning the album at the studio for a while already and been dreaming up some Art Noveau-cum-Vietnam era psychedelic graphics to contextually wrap the contrast of Hippie "flower power" with the inhumane brutality of the war in Vietnam.

A book from Wings of Desire
Wings of Desire is a Body Suspension Team based in Oslo, Norway. To celebrate their 10th anniversary they are publishing the book "Learning to Fly". They are releasing the book themselves and are depending on YOU to help them make it happen.
They seriously deserve your support, so please please read their statement below:

"The book has been a long term project; planned since the very beginning of the Norwegian chapter in suspension history. Helene, our photographer, has been present since Håvve first came out as a Fakir in 1991 and has followed his work for more than two decades. As our official photographer, most of the body suspensions facilitated by Wings of Desire (WoD) can be found in her archives.

Helene’s photographs show more than the beauty of suspended bodies, they also capture the emotion of the moment. There are also a multitude of stories belonging to the people depicted. To give a slight impression of their various feelings and experiences, we have included selected quotes from people who have been suspended by Wings of Desire.

The foreword is written by Håvve’s first mentor, Allen Falkner. The history and philosophy behind WoD practice is put into words by the Norwegian suspension pioneer and creator of WoD, Håvve.

Instead of choosing a publisher, we have decided to publish this book ourselves. We know that we have the experience and ability to make this book a striking visual and emotional testimony—as well as an historical artifact of a decade’s worth of continuous improvement of equipment and technique. What we need is your help to make it happen!"

New Yurei track
Bjeima, conceived from the darkly strange underbelly of norwegian Black Metal to become the ultra-creative multi-musician known from Yurei, Alfa Obscura, Delirium Bound and Virus amongst others, is now sharing the track "Reborn in Reveries" lifted from his upcoming Yurei album "Night Vision". The album will be released this year but so far no release date has been set.

"Reborn in Reveries" sums up several directions explored on the album. Bjeima is still keeping it close to his early inspirations Virus and Ved Buens Ende, but at the same time going much further into a territory of his own - trailing even deeper into the strange dreamland sketched out on the "Working Class Demon" debut from 2010, fusing the instantly recognizable norwegian post-Black Metal spirit with traces of Jazz, Balkan music, Fusion and Rock.

Bjeima is in the spine marrow of Adversum, the label run by Kim Sølve of Trine + Kim Design Studio and Kim from belgian industrial label Neuropa. So far Adversum has released 4 albums: Yurei, Delirium Bound, I Left the Planet and Alfa Obscura.

Bjeima's Soundcloud also works as a source for all his other bands and contains tracks from all aforementioned names.

Norwegian Metal Hammer
A few months after our interview in the british Metal Hammer we were pleased to be interviewed by the norwegian one as well. Thanks to Baard Farangen Faarlund for the chat and to Anders B. for the article photo.

Inferno is upon us again. We suggest you make sure to catch Diskord (release party at Unholy tonight), Autopsy and The Konsortium. We don't have tickets to anything this year, so we will get back to listening to and finishing the artwork for the upcoming Ulver album.

True Norwegian Black Metal?
After being bombarded with articles and updates on the Euronymous vs Norwegian voting hype going on at the moment, we just had to make our kind of visual comment this morning. See picture below.

Now we are being called up by newspapers wanting to use it as an illustration in their articles.

The vote can be done here

Counting Backwards
One of the last artwork projects we finished before celebrating christmas in outer space was Andre Holstad's debut album "Counting Backwards". Andre plays some kind of pop rock noir. The album is recorded at Crystal Canyon and his band features members from Ulver, Cato Salsa, Paperboys, Euroboys, Madrugada and King Midas.

Listen to the single on Spotify here.
(single artwork not by us, by the way)

Release party at The Crossroad Club tonight.

Tonight you can also see Virus at Last Train in Oslo.
